Magazine content description

Piranesi magazine is a biannual magazine from the non-profit organization Ustanova Fundacija Piranesi. Its beginning is associated with the Piran Days of Architecture, an international architectural symposium. The event is connected to the international Piranesi Award, which is also covered in the Piranesi magazine together with Piranesi Recognition Award and the statement of the jury.

The magazine focuses especially on the Central European area, which is why it holds a special place among architecture magazines in Europe. For several years, it has been exchanging its publications with esteemed architecture magazines such as Quaderns, L'architecture d'aujourd'hui, Baumeister, Il progetto, Oris, Zlatni rez, Architektur Aktuell, etc. In addition to international exchanges, the magazine also has numerous foreign subscribers: individuals, libraries, and universities. In Slovenia its regular subscribers are mostly libraries and individuals working in architecture.

The magazine is created by authors from Slovenia and other European countries. It is based on five thematic sections. The section called "Icons of architecture" rediscovers relatively forgotten top-quality 20th-century architecture. "Interview" provides a detailed presentation of architects and their work, while the central section of the magazine is dedicated to contemporary architecture production in Central Europe. Next is the section "Design" that features examples of contemporary design. The magazine's last section is represented by architecture book reviews.
