Portal presentation

The Revije.si portal aims to make Slovenian magazines about literature, humanities and other fields of culture more accessible and help them gain recognition at home and abroad. Via the portal, the Slovenian Book Agency (SBA) provides free space and technical support for presentations of magazines and their publishers. The portal functions as an online archive with free access to full issues of magazines. Complex search options enable the user to carry out targeted research on published periodicals for research, pedagogical, academic and amateur purposes.

At the moment Revije.si portal features 28 magazines that are published with the financial support of the SBA. Specific issues of magazines are available for free after six months have passed since the publication date.

The portal's search engines connect it to the central Slovenian book portal Bližjiknjigi.si (Closer to Books project) that presents the complete Slovenian contemporary literary production and unites all the key elements of the book industry. We intend to connect the Revije.si portal to the Digital Library of Slovenia (dLib) portal and to the European portals Europeana and Eurozine.

The Revije.si portal will really come to life as the central website for Slovenian cultural magazines as soon as publishers recognize and benefit from all its presentation options. We kindly invite you to join us in a way that suits your publishing model.

We also wish that the users would visit the portal often and always discover interesting and useful information.

The beginning of the portal

The portal was set up in 2015 by the Slovenian Book Agency as part of the project partially funded by the European Union through the European Social Fund. The technical aspect is covered by Tend, d. o. o. that carries out computer processing of metadata together with the National and University Library (NUK), while the SBA and magazine editors are in charge of the content.
